| One of the backcountry's tastiest morsels, 3/4 of a pound to 4 pounds, they get bigger when they go to the reefs but don't let that fool you they fight hard on light tackle always pulling down and away trying to "rock you up" that is snag you around something on the bottom and they know where every piece of coral and sea fans are after all it is their home.
Best bait shrimp and small live fish.
Try filleting a 12" or better snapper and dusting it with French's instant potato mix,salt, pepper,garlic powder and deep fry. Some bread, sliced tomatoes ,Baked beans,cold slaw, potato salad on the side and any fish fry is an instant success.
